US threatens to hit key Iranian sites if Tehran retaliates over Soleimani’s death

President Donald Trump has warned Iran that the United States has 52 targets in sight which are “at a very high level and important to Iran and Iranian culture.” Trump lambasted Iran’s vow to avenge the killing of its top General Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike on January 3.
In a tweet on January 4, the US president had a stern warning to Iran not to attempt any retaliation: “[…] Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have…..” The tweet continued: “….targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats!”
